Today 5th graders are learning where to read digital books for free online. The local public library gives us access to thousands of books so we are all filling out an application for a library card. We will also be downloading the OpenEbooks App on classroom iPads and personal electronic devices from home. First Book has provided us with a set of access codes to access this collection as well. Happy eReading!

Please send me all your ORIGINAL mushy-gushy valentine jokes to submit in a contest to win a new set of Junie B. Jones books for the library. Jokes can be submitted in the library or via email to [email protected] Here is one I came up to tell Mr. Landis: Knock, knock. Who's there? Orange Orange who? Orange you glad I fell for you? I introduced a new center this week with a snowflake activity based on the biography by Wilson Bently called Snowflake Bently. Students read the biography or view the digital presentation of the book at BookFlix on their iPad before completing the activity. The center contains a variety of templates to fold and cut into beautiful paper snowflakes. We are decorating our doors and windows with the results. |
